Immediate opening for a full-time fiberglass composite and aluminum body repair technician. The ideal candidate should have familiarity with various types of resins, gel-coats and related marine and automotive products. Specific composite and gel-coat finish training is available and recommended. Costs for training and attendance are paid.

• Repair fiberglass, wood, & composite damage to hulls, floors, stringers, transoms and other body structure in both fiberglass and aluminum boats.
• Perform cosmetic gel-coat, paint and metal flake finish repairs on new and used boats, as well as composite parts on engines and trailers.
• Assist in reconditioning of used boat rigs and performance issues as needed.
• Performs minor aluminum boat repairs.
• Maintains stock of gels, paints, repair materials, masks, spray guns, and other provided supplies and equipment.
• Is familiar with pneumatic and hand tools including sanders, grinders, buffers, masks, and spray guns.

• Must be able to spend considerable time of the day standing or walking on hard surfaces.
• Must be mobile enough to enter and exit different sizes and heights of boats.
• Must be able to lift up to 40-59lbs and assist in lifting up to 50-80lbs with co-workers on occasion.
• Tasks require bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching, or balancing.
• Attends occasional gel and metal flake training as assigned by service team or boat manufacturer.
• Cooperate with service advisors and team to meet customer’s expectations.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• High School Diploma required.
• Experience in Composite/Fiberglass repairs required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Background check may be required
• Tuesday-Saturday work week. 7:30am-5:30pm.

This opening is full-time with a starting wage of $24.00 to $27.00 an hour (depending on experience) plus monthly commission. Yearly estimated salary will be $80,000 to $100,000 depending on individual’s skill level and production.

Buzz’s Marine of Kearney has an opening for a part-time boat detailer. This person is responsible for getting boats ready for sale, completing inside and outside detail of new boats purchased for customer pick-up, fulfilling custom-ordered detailing packages, and assisting in setting up showroom displays + other duties assigned by the service manager. 

• Pressure wash and detail customer boats and showroom boats
• Buffing & waxing hulls
• Metal & Glass cleaning/polishing
• Canvas cleaning
• Floor cleaning
• Interior cleaning
• Cleaning and dressing tires, wheels and rims
• Organize and re-organize service lot as requested
• Help crew located/move inventory as needed
• Assist in cleaning and organizing detail service bays
• Pick up trash and debris from lot
• Clear lot of weeds and leaves as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, moving and parking equipment to correct lot location
• Assist with setup of boat shows and other off-site promotional events
• Cleaning and dressing tries, wheels, and rims
• Covering boats and pontoons in used lot at the end of each day
• May cross train to perform other duties (i.e. forklift operation)
• Perform other tasks required by service manager

• Extreme attention to detail
• Must be able to frequently enter and exit vehicles. Must have valid Driver's License
• Must be able to spend much of the day walking or standing on concrete, gravel or grass
• Must be able to lift 40-59 lbs and assist in lifting up to 50-80 lbs with co-workers. Must be able to complete tasks that require bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching or balancing.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions inside and outside.

This is a part-time position with a starting hourly rate of $16. Our hours are Tuesday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday’s during Winterization, plus as needed from the service manager.
